2nd VP

Thomas (Tom) Quilty Nomination for 2nd Vice President

My name is Thomas (Tom) Quilty and I am seeking your vote for election to the 2nd VP Position on the IEC. I have been a Chapter President, Silicon Valley, and your International Treasurer for the past couple of years. I am a retired District Attorney Investigator and currently own and operate a small consulting and investigations firm serving Silicon Valley High Tech businesses. I have experience with the planning and operation of an International Conference (Monterey - 2005) where I was responsible for the classes, scheduling and operation of the conference. I have also been involved with the Silicon Valley Chapter training conference for more than five years as conference chairperson or class chairperson. As your Treasurer, I redesigned the Chapter Financial Reporting to make it easier for Chapters to report their information, which helped the HTCIA pass our IRS Audit. As a long time member of the HTICA, almost 15 years, except for a year when I was deployed overseas, I believe in our organization and want to continue growing the membership and quality of training provided to our members. Thank you! Tom Quilty

Jimmy Garcia Nomination for Secretary

Hi, I am Jimmy Garcia and I am running for the position of Secretary. I am employed as a Lieutenant for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office Bureau of Investigation, currently assigned as supervisor of the High Technology Crime Investigations Division. I joined the division as a forensic examiner ten years ago. Since that time I have helped build an investigative team that now consists of four forensic examiners and seven cyber investigators who specialize in the investigation of all types of tech crime. In 2001, I was one of the founding members of the Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force (ECTF) in Los Angeles.

I have been an active member of the Southern California Chapter of HTCIA, serving as 1st Vice-President in 2008 and Chapter President in 2009. This year, I am the 2010 HTCIA International Training Conference & Exposition Program Chair in charge of developing the training lectures and labs for the conference. In these difficult economic times, quality training opportunities are an essential part of building and maintaining professional competence. I am committed to providing the best training possible for the members of HTCIA at the International Conference and in the coming year.

Thank you for the opportunity to apply for this position.

Cynthia Navarro Nomination for Secretary

Hello, I'm Cynthia Navarro. I am the current President (2nd time plus I have served on the board in all the other positions) for HTCIA-Silicon Valley. In 2003-2004 I served as 1st VP/President for the International Executive Board. I would love the opportunity to serve as Secretary for the upcoming year. My commitment to the organization dates back to 1992 when I first became a member. I have participated in our regular monthly meetings, trainings, the 2005 International Conference that we hosted, made lots of friends and after all these years we still continue to progress and thrive. I believe that no matter what your position, the important thing is to get involved and to be part of a great great organization. If I am elected I will follow through with participation, dedication, enthusiasm, team spirit, nice handwriting (haha got you for a second), and forward thinking. Hey...what else can I say but PLEASE VOTE FOR ME!
